Description:

This 75 minute masterclass offers a grounded and impactful introduction to trauma-informed care within psychedelic-assisted therapy. Designed for clinicians, facilitators, and wellness practitioners, the presentation explores how unprocessed trauma lives in the body, and why psychedelic experiences—while potent—require a skillfully held, attuned, and ethical container to avoid re-traumatization.

We’ll cover the foundational principles of trauma-informed practice, nervous system literacy, the neurobiology of relational healing, and the unique risks present in non-ordinary states of consciousness.

With an emphasis on coherence, co-regulation, and cultural humility, this session also addresses how to decolonize the space and shift away from pathologizing mental health toward a more integrative, body-based understanding of trauma.

Participants will leave with practical tools for preparation, presence, and integration—along with a renewed commitment to safety, embodiment, and accountability in their work. We'll also have time for Q&A.

What You'll Walk Away With

  • A deeper understanding of how trauma lives in the body and shows up in psychedelic experiences
  • Tools to recognize and respond to trauma responses in non-ordinary states without pathologizing them
  • Strategies to create safer, consent-centered psychedelic containers rooted in somatic intelligence
  • A working knowledge of co-regulation, coherence, and the provider’s nervous system as a primary medicine
  • A trauma-informed lens to apply across preparation, ceremony, and integration
  • A decolonizing framework that challenges the pathology-driven extractive models of healing and centers collective liberation as an essential part of trauma recovery
  • Practices to build cultural humility and dismantle whitewashed, commodified approaches to psychedelic care
  • Real talk on power, privilege, and harm reduction in altered states
  • A renewed sense of why relational healing matters—and how to embody that in your presence, not just your protocol
